All Star cheerleading is one of Canada’s fastest-growing competitive sports, and Gymniks All-Stars is proud to be part of this exciting movement. Unlike traditional cheerleading, All-Star athletes don’t represent a specific school or team—they cheer for the love of the sport and the pursuit of personal achievement.
In this dynamic and highly competitive program, athletes perfect a high-energy, two-and-a-half-minute routine that combines acrobatic stunting, tumbling, and dance. Along the way, participants build strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination, while learning the importance of teamwork and dedication. All-Star cheerleading is the ultimate team sport, where each athlete’s contribution is vital to the team’s success.
The Gymniks All-Stars program follows the guidelines set by Cheer Canada and Alberta Cheerleading rules, ensuring our athletes receive the highest level of training and competition standards.
Provide young athletes with the opportunity to train at a high level, building skills that will help them succeed in both cheerleading and life.

Develop the best cheerleaders possible through rigorous training and supportive coaching.
Represent the Grande Prairie Gymniks with pride, sportsmanship, and excellence.
The Gymniks All Stars program is a competitive cheer program. As competition in Western Canada continues to grow, athletes should be prepared for a demanding and rewarding experience. Our coaching staff expects athletes to demonstrate commitment, discipline, and a strong work ethic. Training will be challenging and will focus on physical, technical, and mental development. Athletes will need to show concentration, coachability, and self-discipline in every practice.
Our goal is to help each athlete grow—both as a cheerleader and as an individual. While the program is demanding, our coaches are dedicated to supporting each athlete and ensuring their growth and success within the sport.
Participation on any competitive cheer team requires successful completion of our tryouts, which are held annually in the spring.
The Prep Season runs from September through April, offering athletes the opportunity to train and compete at a high level, participating in multiple competitions and performances throughout the season. Athletes on our Prep Teams will practice twice weekly, focusing on skill development, routine execution, and team-building.
In addition to regular practice, each participant will also be enrolled in a 1-hour weekly tumble class, where they can further develop their tumbling skills to complement their cheerleading techniques. This ensures that every athlete receives a well-rounded training experience, balancing stunting, jumps, dance, and tumbling.
Each of our Prep Teams is designed to provide a supportive and challenging environment, fostering growth, teamwork, and individual achievement.
Our Elite Season runs from June through April, with a break in July, and provides athletes with an exciting and competitive experience. Throughout the season, athletes will participate in multiple competitions and performances, showcasing their skills and teamwork.
Elite cheer teams will practice twice weekly, focusing on advanced stunting, tumbling, jumps, and choreography. Each participant will also be enrolled in a 1-hour weekly tumble class to further develop their tumbling abilities. Additionally, there will be a mandatory choreography session at the end of August, where teams will come together to learn and perfect their routines for the upcoming season.
The Elite Season is designed for athletes who are committed to the challenges of competitive cheerleading and are ready to dedicate themselves to achieving excellence as part of an elite team.
